Countries confirmed to participate include Belgium, Japan, Australia, Croatia, and many more. These nations will be represented physically through national pavilions at the Expo and showcase a selection of their best indie video games.
To make the event as inclusive as possible, many other countries will also be able to showcase their games on the Games Around The World website and participate with their national content creators digitally through Twitch streams.
This unique online platform is dedicated to showcasing independent video games and their creators from many different countries to a global audience. Through the power of online streaming and international collaboration, Games Around The World brings together cultures, stories, and gameplay experiences from across the globe.
During all the week, the initiative will als, alongside the Osaka Expo showcase, feature a global Twitch streaming event, with creators from participating countries highlighting a curated selection of indie games from around the world. Each country involved will not only present its own titles but also stream games made by developers from other nations, promoting cross-cultural exchange and discovery.
To unify the experience, the official Twitch channel “Games Around The World” will restream all international broadcasts, offering a single hub for viewers from Japan and many other countries to experience this celebration of independent gaming and cultural diversity.
This initiative reflects the Expo 2025 Osaka’s theme of innovation, collaboration, and global learning through interactive entertainment. It invites audiences everywhere to discover the world through games—no matter where they are.
We will soon be unveiling the programme of activities, countries with their selected games and national streamers, taking part in the Games Around The World week, stay tuned !
