Australia is on board !
On July 22, Australian indie video games will in the spotlight in the Australian pavilion, during a networking day, thanks
From the outset, we have been able to count on the support of our Japanese partners Masahiko Murakami (Bitsummit/Skeleton Crew) and Sho Sato (IGDA SIG/Japan), as well as Juliana Brito (Indie Hero/Game Jam Plus).
Japan’s Industry-Leading Independent Game Development Festival in Kyoto Established in late 2012, BitSummit was founded with the goal of giving Japanese independent game makers a chance to show their games to the world.
Since then, it has grown from a small, industry-only event of around 200 attendees in 2013 to a groundbreaking festival that welcomed over 34,000 attendees and more than 100 exhibitors in 2024.
BitSummit is organized and overseen by JIGA (Japan Independent Games Aggregate), a nonprofit organization supporting the indie games community in Japan. Masahiko Murakami, director of Kyoto-based indie studio Skeleton Crew Studio Inc., is one of JIGA’s board members and plays a central role in the planning and execution of the event.
Thanks to Masahiko and his team from Skeleton Crew, we are able to offer PR activities in Japan including three press releases to a press list of around 80 contacts (journalists, streamers, …) in the national pavilions.
The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) is the world’s largest nonprofit membership organization serving all individuals who create games. They bring together developers at key industry conferences and in over 150 chapters and special interest groups (SIGs) to improve their lives and their craft.
As a part of IGDA, IGDA Incubation SIG supports leaders of more than 120 incubators, accelerators and game dev communities who plan to build a new game incubator in 60 countries. Their purpose is to support existing incubators, help building new incubators and collaborate with stakeholders to build ecosystems for game developers.
Sho Sato, representative of IGDA Incubation SIG in Japan, helped us get in touch with different pavilions and video games associations, while spreading the word about the Games Around The World week during the Osaka Expo.
Led by Juliana Brito and Ian Rochlin, Indie Hero aims to ease the path for independent developers in the great mission of making a living by working with games!
They primarily operate in coordinating and establishing direct connections between developers, investors, and major companies.
GameJamPlus is the world’s largest game development marathon and acceleration, built by a collaborative and non-profit movement.
They help us coordinate the participation of Brazil to the Games Around the World Week, thanks to their contact and involvement with the video games association in more than 20 states !
We would also like to thank the industry associations from the various participating countries for their trust, both on site at the Expo: Australia (IGEA), Belgium (VAF and WALGA), Croatia (Croatian Audiovisual Centre and Games Croatia) and the countries contributing to online activities: Argentina (ADVA), Brazil (Abragames, Amazonas Game Dev, Women Game Jam, ), DRC(Manaya), Luxembourg (LVGA), the Netherlands (DGA), the Philippines (GDAP), and all the others.
