BitSummit: Japan’s Industry-Leading Independent Game Development Festival in Kyoto Established in late 2012, BitSummit was founded with the goal of giving Japanese independent game makers a chance to show their games to the world. Since then, it has grown from a small, industry-only event of around 200 attendees in 2013 to a groundbreaking festival that welcomed over 34,000 attendees and more than 100 exhibitors in 2024. BitSummit is organized and overseen by JIGA (Japan Independent Games Aggregate), a nonprofit organization supporting the indie games community in Japan. Masahiko Murakami, director of Kyoto-based indie studio Skeleton Crew Studio Inc., is one of JIGA’s board members and plays a central role in the planning and execution of the event.

International Game Developers Association is a non-profit organization for game developers around the world. As a part of IGDA, IGDA Incubation SIG supports leaders of more than 120 incubators, accelerators and game dev communities who plan to build a new game incubator in 60 countries. Our purpose is to support existing incubators, help building new incubators and collaborate with stakeholders to build ecosystems for game developers.

The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) is the world’s largest nonprofit membership organization serving all individuals who create games. We bring together developers at key industry conferences and in over 150 chapters and special interest groups (SIGs) to improve their lives and their craft.
