Hablon Dawani is a narrative-driven adventure game steeped in Bicolano mythology and Filipino cultural traditions. The game follows the origin story of Dawani, a mortal girl destined to become the goddess of the rainbow. Combining environmental storytelling, dialogue-based exploration, light puzzle-solving, and weaving-based mechanics, Hablon Dawani invites players to explore a mystical world where folklore and fate are tightly interwoven.
Story & Lore
Before she ascended as a goddess, Dawani was a gifted weaver living in the peaceful village of Iraya. Alongside her mother, Huraw, she created vibrant, handwoven cloths (hablon) that reflected their joy, heritage, and harmony with nature. But their peace is shattered when Dawani hears the chilling chirp of the Korokoy—a mythical cricket said to herald the death of a loved one. Days later, a powerful storm strikes the village, bringing loss, fear, and destruction.
As her mother falls ill and the village suffers, Dawani embarks on a journey to unravel the mystery behind the storm and the deathly omen. Her quest leads her through enchanted forests, forgotten caves, and spiritual realms where she encounters mythical beings, ancestral spirits, and remnants of ancient Bicolano lore. Along the way, Dawani discovers the deeper forces shaping her destiny and the divine power stirring within her.
